ATEX Installations and Inspections

Safety you can rely on

ATEX certified services

Electrical installations in areas where potentially explosive atmospheres may be present, such as gases, vapours, or combustible dusts, must be done in accordance with strict safety guidelines.
Installations that are recognised as hazardous areas, such as petrol stations, Battery rooms, chemical plants, or distilleries, are required by law to undertake routine electrical safety checks.
Our fully qualified electrical specialists, experienced in these areas, will audit, and advise on any electrical maintenance work that needs to be carried out.

ATEX inspections are graded in three ways: Visual, Close or Detailed.
To maintain the necessary ATEX protection, EN60079-17 2014 states that all ATEX installations must be inspected regularly.
Within 18 months of installation, a minimum Visual inspection must be carried out and remedial work completed. After 18 months, a Close inspection is necessary, and a detailed inspection no later than 4½ years after the initial installation.
The frequency of inspections may increase, depending on a site’s environment and specific equipment installed.
